To My Sister

When my stars are blocked, the light is long gone. I am swirling in an ocean of words that does not tell me anything. While my mind is blank and my face can’t be forced to mirror my inside. The music of your voice comes lightly trough the darkness. The tunes I have heard since before I understood speech. Your soft slender arms around my fragile body, recollecting the wild sea in my mind. The tenderness of your syllables. Back to the stage of bare feet and summer dresses the wind gently played with. Back to the warmth and smell of home. I finally see the path I chose to follow, your hand, so much like my own, in mine. From the day I was born, to the day I close my eyes, our profound bond I can always rely on.
